A Big Day for Minnesota EXIT with Founder and Chairman of the Board Steve Morris here
A number of us have been very fortunate to meet the EXIT International Founder and Chairman of the Board, Steve Morris and to hear his presentations. He is noted as one of the top 100 speakers in the nation - and I can see why!
Steve joined the Minnesota contingent yesterday after having been in Sioux Falls, SD and DesMoines IA to share the EXIT message and to meet with the regional leaders. Bill Pankonin is the top Regional in the National for EXIT, and did an excellent job of setting up these three meetings. I was tired after one, I can not imagine going through three consistent days of these presentations!
Since I have been in the hospitality end of business for a number of years - it is very important to me that my home community comes across well to all visitors. They need to leave with a good impression - and the Radisson Blu, Mall of America did an excellent job to assure this happened for all in attendance. I do not remember how many states were represented, but there were a number, plus representation from Canada.
This is the 20th anniversary for EXIT Realty International, and is so hard to believe it is already this old. It is growing extensively on the East and West Coast as well as in Florida and many Canadian communities. Attending this event reminded me of why I like EXIT -1} how many large corporations will have their founder and Chairman of the Board come to their locality to meet with them? Any not just one, but three, in the upper midwest? 2) Steve was in the meeting, walking around the tables, talking with people, and intermingling, taking a number of pictures and asking them about themselves - not on cell phone and working but focused on the people there. 3) He reminded us that we are not selling homes (what!) we are selling a house and the individuals make this house into a home.
He shared life lessons - The challenge in life is connecting the dots! and spinning off your business as you see it, Not as others are telling you. The meaning of different words we use daily a) SOLD which means unconditional acceptance b) Guilt is allowing ourselves to suffer c) resentment is with those The most important thing is to set your own standards and not to live based on what others have set for you. Life really is constant learning - which is the most fun of all!
EXIT and Mr Morris are also focussed on good health and keeping ones self healthy, he shared many pointers and there is a lot of information on the EXIT Corporate web site to learn more in taking care of yourself
In parting from this full day of education, networking with other EXIT Office members, all I could think of was how fortunate we are that our Regional went to all this work to get it set up - Thank you Bill Pankonin and how fortunate we are to have a founder that will come and continue to share his knowledge and insights with the people in his organization
Have a wonderful weekend everyone - remember your blessings and keep making more for others
